Dangerous Creatures: In The Nile

Inspired by ancient Egypt, the Dangerous Creatures cuff series look to stories in their mythology and art, showcasing animals they feared but deeply respected. The form of these cuffs nods to a famous pair of bracelets found on King Tut.

Using the ancient art of chasing and repousse, a flat sheet of metal is transformed into a dimensional form to reveal a story. The In The Nile cuff shows a crocodile as it slithers, skimming along the surface of the water, similar to scenes of the hunt in Egyptian art. On either is a gradient of Sapphire (29.18ct) and Moonstone (6.35ct) cabochons, in a stripe-like pattern referencing the ancient Egyptian use of banding.
